TOILET IN EVERY ROOM (TIE-R)
Effective implementation of health and safety education requires administrative support and sufficient time and resources. Strategies help to ensure that support continues and becomes institutionalized. Health and safety of pupils are better able to learn than those who feel unsafe or have unaddressed health issues. Education can enhance a person’s health and safety. When the school program include health and safety precautions of the pupils and when standards include health and safety content, teachers make time to teach more effectively and efficiently. Otherwise, many school administrations consider health and safety as “add-ons” to their programs. In lieu with this, the Potrero Elementary School launched the Toilet In Every Room (TIE-R) Program to guarantee pupils’ security.
